- Go to How To Raise The Dead -- Castro And Resurrecting Cuba
Oh, I have little doubt that Castro has tried to do a multitude of things
to help his nation grow, only to be stonewalled in various ways by the United States. However, his most unforgivable crime is his unwillingness to play ball with Washington. Look, we have openly backed or covertly supported many fascists, like Hussein and Noriega, over the years. Hatred or pride should not run so deep in a leader as to deny your people their due.

The Cuban people are very talented in many ways. I'm not Castro's biggest fan, but I don't hate him either. However, I think it's rather obscene for one man to think so much of himself--or so little of others--to hold on to power for forty-six years! I do think that at different times, Castro has tried to do what you suggest, but has been thwarted by the United States.
