Mother nature knocking on your door huh.
I try not to be on the desert when the lightening is going. Being the tallest thing around is never a good idea in lightening storms.

Whacky, we had 9,000 strikes recorded in our last fabulously huge storm

last week. Back in '74, I stepped out onto the porch to place my planters in the rain. I had just removed my newborn from his crib and handed him to his daddy. Kaboom, and I was knocked backward into the house, lungs full of sulphur or something. Hard to breathe. Smelled smoke, found the bedroom wall blown to pieces and the baby's crib full of splintered into large spears, two by fours, about  ten of them piercing his mattress.

There was just a tiny chink of cement missing from the corner of one brick where it entered the house. Electrical wiring all burned and costly for the insurance company. I have ever since gone under tables and into closets with the dogs at the first strike.  Last week, I had a beer for the first time in over a year. It was really wild for about an hour and a half there.

Wow!  That sounds exciting, but a little too close for comfort.

Well, Whacky. . , at least I got 1 little piece of humor from you today. I checked for a new entry on your other blog, but you hadn't updated it in a few days. *sigh* You owe me a good bahhah for having to wait so long for an update to your humor blog.
