Pat B - thanks for commenting. I was a newspaper editor for two years--for two local newspapers actually--so I do recall all the pro and cons--there are a lot of cons to it--trust me--but it is steady pay.

Hey Hollee!
good to see you! Good luck with the job. It would be nice to have a steady income!

You should stop by and have a coffee one afternoon!

The way you are spending summer sounds idyllic to me, Hollee.  I do hope you get the job, genius blogger.

I swear I was going to write to you today
and ask you where you and your thumb have been!  It's good to see you in the old stomping grounds again.  Stomping grounds?  um, good to see you.

Would You Be Willing To Share

The info on how you write for greeting cards?  I really need to pick up a few extra dollars right about now and would appreciate any help.

editing a paper
is so hands-on and involving, it will take every minute of your waking time if you're not careful. Sounds like great fun in spite of all the bureaucratic crapola involved -- the thing about being the editor is that your ideas become directions rather than suggestions, so your good sense spreads to the reporters and then on out into your community. While it will take up your mental energy and leave perhaps a bit less for your freelance stuff, it will also bring in new material... just a couple pros & cons...  You're in a win/win situation -- nothing to lose if you get it, or not. Hope it all works the way you want it to. :) pat

Good luck
with the job applications. I hope that something good comes your way. I'm working part time with a young toddler and feel that this is a block to applying for any promotions in my organisation as I won't be taken seriously. Still I guess you ahve to be in it if you want to be considered at all?
