I'm a sucker for that sort of kindness. It was very good of you to say that. It means more to me than I can express in words. It makes me more willing to take seriously your critique of our policies. From an American perspective, it is as Frederick Douglass said, (roughly quoted) "The true patriot criticizes his country for its sins."
Pat B, you're too charitable toward Mr. Clinton, but broadly you are right. During his lead, real wages for the average worker actually went up. Right now, they are alternating between stagnation and decline. This as productivity goes up -- championed as a sign of economic health. Not for most people. "Increased productivity" amid falling wages is a nice way of saying, "We're screwing workers more effectively than ever -- making them work more for less pay!"

The idiocy is all yours. You are so misguided I don't even know where to begin. Philisophically, we're on different planets and by the way, its label, not lable.

...revealing the weaknesses of your idiot president makes me neither a leftie nor a jihadist.
What is with you that makes you want to lable folk all the time? Does it make you somehow more comfortable?
Oh, and for the record, I love America, and I love most Americans I've ever met. I've even MADE love with a few of the more attractive female ones, and that was OK, too.
What I truly do hate is the way in which some Americans are falling hook, line and sinker for every piece of bullshit that comes out of the White House, or appears on Faux News. The fact that some people are keen to swallow anything, unthinkingly, is eroding the very freedoms you claim to stand for, the very way of life you're so keen to defend, and at the same time puts the rest of the world in grave danger.
And yes, that does include me, my wife, and our unborn child.
Yes, it is that personal for me now.
Thanks for reading - and I'm sorry your labels are so ineffectual on me.

How far left is far?
Karl Marx was probably as far left as you but not by much. You are blinded by your hate of America, just as the jihadists are and I suspect, you are one of them.

...it IS a PR stunt. Sadly, the likes of Sean and many others lap it up like cats at cream, thinking there's some sort of...I don't know...VALUE to it or something.
Intelligent people, told what to think by the flickering box in the corner of the room. Sad, isn't it?
Thanks for reading.

I'll quote you.....oh give me a fucking break.
Lyndon Johnson was praised then for that, because of the time....less cynicism (or realism?), or maybe we just didn't know what we know about the things we do now....financing, etc. I think Bush does it thinking it would be good PR. That, and he has the brain the size of a marble and a conscience to match. That's just my opinion.

...thanks for the timely reminder of the Clinton years. Isn't it incredible that some people are still so hung up about a solitary blowjob, when the evils and abuses of power committed by Dubya will eventually see him hauled up on war crimes charges, if there's any justice.
I'm delighted you love this blog! There's 27 pages of posts, dating back to February 1st 2003, so it ain't going anywhere! (Take time to go rioght back to the beginning sometime - it's quite interesting!)
Thanks a lot, Pat!

BS detectors in overdrive...
Your blog echoes Michael Moore's documentary "Fahrenheit 9-1-1" that got the academy award last year. Mr. Moore is another soul who is unlikely to be invited to the ranch. If one tenth of the documentation in the film is true, the Bush philosophy is putting all of us at risk of (worst case scenario) dying in a holocaust, and best case -- continuing the decline in quality of life for working class people the world over.
As for the comment that "all Clinton did was get his c*** sucked" -- someone has a short memory. Under Clinton's presidency the U.S. treasury had a surplus, there was record low unemployment, and the world didn't hate America because its leaders couldn't find their butts with both hands, let alone recognize the shape of most European countries on a globe. Under Clinton's leadership, the U.S. wasn't on an empire-building rampage. He didn't spin the news to present the fattening of oil barons, killing thousands of civilians and putting our nation's economy at risk as "moral."

...wow - didn't mean to push your buttons like that, man. What is it in my writing that you find so threatening?
Just a couple of things to put you right on.
First, I don't own a TV, and I don't live in the US. That combination pretty much guarantees that I never get to see CNN. Thank god! last time I did see it, it was so trashy I found it hard to believe it was really a news channel. Apparently, Faux news is even worse these days.
Second, clearly your comment "Iraq: If you haven't been there, don't talk about it" is said either ironically or thoughtlessly. It's too limiting! I mean, apart from anything else, only 12% of the Senators you elect have passports. On your terms, the remaining 88% have no right to even talk about anything or anywhere beyond US borders - let alone create entire foreign policies. Actually, you might be on to something there...
Thanks for reading, and stay safe, dude.

...I tend to leave the minutae of American party politics to - well, to Americans! I really don't care. The reality is, in your country as well as mine, that there is no real difference any more between the main parties. They're all on roughly the same agenda. I doubt a change of party will make much of a difference, there or here.

Gotta question.
Ok fuck stain, what the fuck do you know about this war in Iraq? Have you been there? Are you there now? Has your son/daughter/sister/brother gone over there? Are they a Communist like you? Are you in league with Hanoi Jane, you know, Jane Fonda, the cunt who comitted blatant treason, but got away with it?
What do you really know? Try this simple concept, it makes sense: Iraq: If you haven't been there, don't talk about it.
Of course, that's too simple for you to grasp, and I'm sure there's going to be some leftist-commie spewage to ensue about something you have no understand of except from what CNN wants you to see.
Happy fucking Lenin day
