Personally, I don't use the word sucker. I use the word Tootsie Roll. Had that name brand across my forehead a few times.

I've been married for 36 years to the same woman. I live in a place that  love ; witha wonderful climate, good food, lovely people ; I do things that I like doing, and life's good! Try living in Spain.

I enjoyed this post, very well written.  I just don't know what I think about it.  It may be because I am going through something similar to the post itself.  People use each other no matter what sex.  Once you get it into your brain that you are being used, you can begin to erase.  Good luck, and thanks for this.
