- Go to NOT EVERYONE NEEDS TO HAVE KIDS
True, family is important. But sometimes people who have children really don't understand what this means. Too often parents confuse their needs with the new demands that children bring. Priorities get confused. And it shouldn't be that way. As an adolescent counselor who works with at-risk-youth, I know first hand what happens when kids don't feel that their parents really care about them, or care for them. If home doesn't create a sense of belonging, a sense of joy and purpose, then kids will turn elsewhere and try a find a place to belong where they feel accepted. Unforturnately the price of admission for acceptance is drugs, cigarets, alcohol and sex.
