You're right!!
The reported effect on white blood cell function was blown completely out of context and was translated to mean that echinacea would have some magical effect on treating and preventing colds. As we now see, the data fails to support this claim. Physiologic suppositions sometimes fail to translate into clinical benefit.

I'm enjoying your blog
and finding a lot of useful information.  It's very well-written, as well.  I have been keeping up with the echinacea studies and reports.  My understanding of the value of echinacea is that it supports white cell functions.  It seems the supposed cold cure ability is an inflated urban legend.  What is your take on this?
