Since I have never been able to sell any of my writing and everytime someone asks me to write, it's always a non-paying gig, I have yet to receive anything other than a thank you...haha....which really isn't close to chocolate at all....
Sounds like you're doing pretty good for yourself though!

The best reward I've ever gotten out of writing is when I wrote a fan fiction piece about "Center Stage" and I got a few responses from people like me that I had touched. I think evoking emotions is the best part of being a writer.

I'm not asking you to believe this
but it's the truth. A story I wrote about my desolation and desperation to find meaning in my life got to a friend of mine in such a way that she backed out of killing herself. I had no idea she was even planning it until I got the phone call and her crying her heart out on the other end of the line. That was the best thing I have experienced as a writer.
