Dear MiaElla,

I was cleaning up my poetry blog last night came across this poem I wrote months ago but never posted when I was reading your blog entries about your brother's death. It's not the greatest poem, but it did come from the heart.  I enjoy your writing!

 

Our collective love tumbles

into the depression

left by the skidding truck;

that moment when vertigo met constellation

and a brother’s life was taken.

 

When tragedies like this

narrow our field of vision,

we see through the fog

and concentrate on the aurora.
