Me, too, Curator!
I saw the two kittens together last night a couple of blocks away.  They are big now and fluffy looking.  I feel I let them down.

Yes, I do remember Scarlet

I've seen her story in several places and can't forget her sweet, scarred face and ears.

I called the Humane Society; they said I have to bring in the animals, but I should call local law enforcement.  I called our police dept.  They said to call Humane Society; I said, no, they told me to call  you.  I was told they'll "look into" it.  Haven't seen the cats for a long time now, except one day a few weeks ago when I saw two of the kittens, now getting bigger, with a chipmunk they caught near our garage.

Meanwhile, our county Humane Society had a cat crisis in August.  They were full up, as were all their foster homes.  Rather than euthanize healthy animals, they offered free adoptions.  They adopted out over 200 cats, and again have room at the facility.  Hope this works out for everyone.  They also have a trap, neuter, release (TNR) program going, but only if the cats can be released to a farm or other facility that will agree to provide food and water for these feral cats.  It's a hard world for cats.

Thanks for eading, curator, and welcome to Blogit.  I've been enjoying your posts.

Thomas, I still miss you.

Oh! Poor mommy cat
Remember "Scarlet Saves Her Kittens"? The real-life story of the mommy cat, I believe in Boston, who went into a burning house repeatedly to save her kittens? And she did, too, even though she was terribly burned. Why do we treat these creatures so shabbily? Doesn't the way we treat domestic animals say a great deal about how we treat human beings, really? What do you think you'll do?

I'm glad that everyone knows what everyone is trying to say. It really does help. Some of us need more help then others. You're slow on posting/writing. Everything ok? I'll just sit and wait.........

It's OK, Thomas.

We know what we mean, don't we?  Our cats follow me around most of the time.  They are usually able to communicate their needs and desires.  They have a vocabulary of words they understand when I or anyone else speaks them.  We don't pick them up or hold them if they don't want it to happen, although I can't say they show the same respect when we would rather not be sat, laid, or jumped upon.  I don't mind, though.

The feral mother cat and kittens show up every 3 or 4 days, so I'm going to have to do something about them.  We can't get near them, so it will be a challenge.  Thanks for reading.

She loved them as much as they loved her. We can't get these comments correct. I screwed up too.

My daughter handled her cats a lot and did a wondewful job with them. The cats would run to her and follow her. They loved her as much as they loved her. It really surprised me. I even liked them. I like cats but its a aloof thing both ways.

I hate people like that! They should be put out of their houses once in a while!

That really, truly breaks my heart--such irresponsible people make my blood boil over.
