StrickGold...
...I think it's clear from the tone of my comment that I DO support the troops in doing the job they are (badly) paid to do.

But you'll also know I vehemently oppose the policy that puts them in the Middle East to start with. It's flagged up as some phoney 'war on terror' when it's actually fanning the flames of islamic radicalism around the world, and making life more dangerous for all of us.

And as for Bush - alcohol problems? Drug convictions? Draft dodger? Election fraudster? Empire builder? Lining the pockets of himslef, his family and his friends on the back of the efforts of your troops? And, as is commonly said of him over here these days, it seems that English isn't his first language.

Need I say more?

Damon

It is obvious that you have a voice and an opinion -- it would be great to see you use that voice and those opinions where it is needed like for example supporting our troops instead of blaming Bush.  Thanks for reading

I started this post because regardless of what your views are on War, our men and women in our military do put there lives on the line and I for one appreciate it and dont think that they are compensated accordingly.

I am sure that you have heard this many time but thank you for all that you do.  I for one could not jump out of an airplane now if I was 20 yrs younger-- back then I was daredevil enough to at least attempt it.  God Bless you

This Comes...
...as a bit of a shock!

You have a "Commander-in-Chief" who rattles on daily about sacrifice, about heros, about the boys doing a fine job in Iraq and elsewhere. All very nice to hear in the big push on the mythical "war on terror".

And on the other hand, that self-same "Commander-in-Chief" is happy to oversee a military that needs CHARITY to get along, because pay and benefits are so terribly low???

Wow. I wonder if Bush can even spell 'hypocrisy'.

Some of the readers of my blog would probably be surprised to hear this, but I am a paratrooper (crazy asshole who jumps out of airplanes) in the U.S.  Army (if you read my blog you'll probably be surprised that a military guy wrote it...it's pretty goofy).  I'm 19 and have nobody to look out for but myself, so I really have no monetary difficulties, but I know many guys (and gals) who have families that they are struggling to support on low military wages.  I always like to see these little eye openers here and there...hopefully people will start realizing the truth:  we are putting our asses on the line like no other group of people out there, and we are not being compensated properly.

Good luck with your blog.  You're doing the right thing.

Opps
I typed in the wrong site.  I have corrected this and it should link you to the correct web-site where you can request a free FEDEX label to send in your old cell phones

The link led me to a pointer site or whatever you call it.  Could it be .net or .org (I'll check myself but you may want to see what's up).  Just found your blog, will be back often.
