I didn't find this story to be even the slightest bit disturbing, kingmi,
because this sort of behavior with journalists occurs throughout the world all the time. Security forces everywhere are wary of reporters. It is one of the easiest ways to get to a figure for assassination. No, the difference here is that it happened with Rice's entourage, so a big deal is being made of it.
And, personally, I'm sick of people like Rice trying to highlight a minor issue (relatively speaking) over a major one, where she says she wants something done about safety for women in the camps to help prevent rapes, etc. Well, here's an idea, Condi, let's work on getting rid of the camps. Let's do something for Darfur. Let's eliminate the necessity for people to live like refugees, where they can be treated like cattle, where the women can be treated as so much breeding stock. Come on, Condi, let's do that.
Asses, kingmi, all of them...
Oh, and as to your question. Reporters running with Condi probably aren't safe. Nobody seems to like her. Go figure.

Some of you may remember my blog from January about the Sudanese girl
who starved herself in the public schools, ran wild in the halls and rooms, and exhibited a self-destructive behavior. She was from this camp: The children are chanting Conondeeza, Oh Condoleeza.
