Flightpath,
My family and I are well. We had lots of wind and not a lot of rain (surprizingly). There was a lot of flooding. I've only heard about 4 lives being lost - a stalled car with a lady and 2 small children was washed away. So too the gentleman who was trying to help them.
Some people had to be evacuated because they live in flood-prone areas. Unfortunately, the same areas that suffered in Ivan (he hit us from the South as well) suffered during Dennis and this time around too. The government is trying to help those people.
Ironically, to look outside today, you would not believe that we had a hurricane yesterday. It is sunny and windy, just like any other day. Thankfully, Emily took a while to get here and she didn't linger at all. I wonder what's happening with the other 2 systems that were developing while Emily was doing her work. I better go check the weather channel.

The two hour power outage we had today gave me even more time to look for some calls for submission. Blogit can be a compelling addiction.

Word Smith...Hurricane's a scary way to find writing or chore time! It's often a dilemma with Blogit continually tempting. I've finally adopted an ongoing schedule of sorts...one or two hours in bloggerville, then one or two hrs. with chores.
