I agree that religions are the root of all evil; no doubt. It isn't God that is the problem, it is the people who say they believe in It, and then carry on as if It didn't exist. :P

God

Er ... looking around me at times, I wonder if there is really such a thing as             " collective imagination" Outside of blogit, is there such a thing as imagination?  Is it on sale in many stores? or can one get it free with 5 gallons of petrol ( Oh, alright then, gasoline. Okay now?)

I'm gonna stick my neck out and say I think religions : or rather all of them, a curse. I've just had published a series of articles on the Spanish Inquisition, and all that one can conclude is the Inquisitors, and those who tolerated and supported them were more fitted to be worshippers of, say, Quetzalcoatl than followers of the gentle, compassionate Jesus.

What the hell kind of religious faith is it that has to inflict untold suffering, torture and death upon un-numbered thousands that " The Faith" might remain pure? To do so in a secular, political cause is an outrage ; to do so in a religious cause is an abomination.

Reading the Catholic Church's websites today, does one see and sign of shame for all this? Any condemnation of the fiendish Tomas de Torquemada and his ilk? No, see, what it is, is that simple people like us just can't see how necessary the Roman and the Spanish Inquisitions were ... to maintain the purity of the faith.  So, eerything's okay then, isn't it?

And hey! What a cheek to usurp every human virtue and make it a religious virtue. Exlcusive to my particular sect of course : not yours, 'cos you're a heretic or a heathen. The only good ting about religion is that Bible thing. Great read, if you're into mayhem, bloodshed by the bathful, oedipus complexes, etc etc. Good denouement too : it was the Devil who dun it.

Right on the button
God is a figment of our collective imaginations, and the Christian faiths can't even agree on what god wants!

It is very frightening that our Christian majority (is it even?) is electing those who are trying to remove the line between church and state. People...(grumble, grumble...I almost want to head back to Gypsy's Pity Ptty)
