Of course it shouldn't be limited to one school of thought. However, a school of thought that is grounded in religious beliefs has no business in public schools. When there's solid, scientific evidence to show that it is likely the Universe was created by some out of this world deity, I'll listen. Just to make myself clear, when someone can show me some sort of evidence that has NOTHING to do with the bible, I'll listen. If it is to be a true science, I should never hear the argument, "You see, we found such and such which points to this passage in the bible being accurate". The second you mention the bible, it becomes religious fodder and needs to stay away from anything funded by taxpayers

Yes, I know what you were trying to show; however, education must not be limited to one school of thought. Also, today, many scientists - whether religious or not - are increasingly vocal as they ponder more than one interpretation of Earth's creation.

Also, I should make it clear that with this post I wasn’t trying to argue faith or belief. Instead I was showing that creationism is not a science, but rather a matter of that faith and belief, therefore having no place in public schools.

Well hey, that's what you believe. That's not what I believe. Hell, I could say "The notion that there's some supernatural entity that decided to create the ENTIRE UNIVERSE for a small species of beings is ignorant and arrogant." But hey, you have your faith, and I'll have my absence of it.

The notion that this planet was created by an explosion is as ridiculous as saying the alphabet was created by an explosion in a printing shop.

UH,
Excellent post. This is a profound subject but you're presented it in a comprehensive manner for us.

What I found from a dictionary:

Science-
The observation, identification, description, experimental investigation, and theoretical explanation of phenomena.

Creationism-
Belief in the literal interpretation of the account of the creation of the universe and of all living things related in the Bible.

-------
How right you are!
