I actually always liked the analogy of somedays you're a bug and others you're a windshield! And, I find I don't have to hold anything at all....just holding my dang arm out straight will get the message across to me!  I was on the rifle team in college....we used the ROTC facilities and guns and I think those are what we fired...big, heavy things with straps on them..it's been so long, can't believe I can't remember.  Anyway, thanks for serving.

Glad you got something out of it! This is something I have had for awhile and refer to occasionally to remind myself. Thanks for reading.

I can identify with
frankk's comment. When I was in the army, our platoon sergeant did the same thing, but instead of a piece of chalk, it was an M-1 rifle! Hemlocker

So, Krisles, we're
either shitting on others or getting shit on? Sounds rather pessimistic--or optimistic, depending on your point of view. Actually, real pigeons are always the pigeon. Heavy, huh? Hemlocker

Glad you find it as useful as I did! They were included...wish I had this much wisdom!! These are the kind of things I keep in my paper brain.  Periodically, I make a post out of them and share...I truly believe in the old GarbageInGarbageOut school of philosophy and collect this kind of stuff. Thanks for reading!

Wow, Krisles
This entry is an absolute keeper (one to carry into to work with you and pin to the bulletin board)!! Did the lecturer actually include all of the perspectives you listed, or are they your creations?? Absolutely brilliant!!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! You know, being vague is a true art form for some people...I used to think that it was always a lack of understanding...and sometimes it is...but I've come to realize that just as often it is on purpose....very crafty....and just as often, very kind.  Thanks for reading.

I have to laugh when I picture what a bunch of birds would do to all that hair!! OK....you do what you feel is right for you...just keep writing the fun and thought-provoking posts.  Passion says I get my panties in a wad all the time...of course, I think she is reactionary and that she is just not paying attention so I do yell at her occasionally.  Anyway, glad I didn't step on your toes and thanks for telling me!

Wonderful post, I especially liked the bit about being vague if you're not going to be kind. =P

Krisles, That is a really good post. I like all those profound sayings that
people have a tendency to overlook. Simple but true (sort of like me)lol

Krisles...Today I feel like the statue, not the pigeon, teehee
That was a well-written post. I enjoy reading your writing. I am not upset with you. You have not stolen my ideas. Heck, I talked about you in a recent post, remember, you gave me an idea about saying sorry. Krisles, you are one of the kindest people here on Blogit. No shit. Excuse my language. I have also participated in some lengthy chat and chat. But, I have noticed that my writing will go up and down depending on a few at the top who tell the rest of the readers who to read. They follow the clicks and clique leader. I will not play that game. Some bloggers even told me to leave, in a cute kinda way if you look back at the remarks. That's okay. I will leave when I'm ready. My writing speaks for itself and I fear no one here. This crap has been boiling in me after I figured out the game early on. And it's not easy to beat.

I had a martial arts instructor use a very similar analogy once. He was explaining
standing meditation, which is an integral part of internal martial arts, trying to
get across the idea of how holding a particular posture can make you stronger.
He held up a piece of chalk - "How much does this weigh?' - Various guesses.
"Hold it out in front of you for twenty minutes and you'll know EXACTLY how much.."

Thanks! I had a great time at the pub.....my fingers are better on the keyboard now...they were really drunk earlier!!!!....just would not stay on the keys!!!....it was awful!!!!!....but I hung in there....I am very stubborn that way!!..I went to the shrink today and took him a whole handfull of copies of the jokes I have been posting...I just love him; he is from Venezuela and is the best shrink I've ever been to; my hubby has seen him from years so it saves  lot of time for me - he knows what I deal with!! He just wants me to keep my working on keeping my boundaries - that is my #1 problem, I don't have many - they pretty much dissolve between myself and others. Anywhoooo, I am still a little drunk but my capacity is somewhat enormous.....would have made a great sailor - HA! Don't get seasick or hung-over either -disgusting, aren't I?! Bliss (my black cat) just plopped down on the desk on top of my pull-out keyboard and is rolled over for me to rub her stomach.....she looks fairly insistent....better do it.....

This is great
My glass of water appears to weigh in at 50 pounds on some days, but lately it has weighed almost nothing. I have different outlets for dealing with stress, and I don't hesitate to use each one as needed.
