I had heard that, Kingmi.
Admirable, huh? Why? What did I "overcome"?

Truthfully, I could not care less about the clicks. In three months here, I believe I've looked at my ranking twice (and one of those was by accident). Oh, and, one time my mother told me what it was.

Besides, if I understand the payment structure correctly, the only way to make any real money would be to have, like, 50 people read your blog every day... and no one else's. What are the odds of that happening?

Has anyone actually tried naming their blog, "The Blogger's Blog on Better Blogging"? Cause, I would imagine that would "earn" them a lot a clicks.

Madame, BTW, do you know what James Dean's last words were?
"He sees us doesn't he?"  True.

Madame P.O. I think your ranking is admirable.

Joe Love ~
Hey, that's just the "way of the world", man.

I heard only Disney's head was frozen, Sassyass,
to, like, save space.

You've GOT to be kidding me!!
Why??

Oh, shut up!
Just kidding, Joe! (You know I adore you!)

At any rate, you apparently didn't read my last comment in my previous post. So, I shall repeat it here:

This is actually the final week of my three month "Ask Madame P.O." test run, gals/guys. It was never really meant to be a "permanent fixture". Just here to, sort of, gauge a different audience's reactions. (Although, I do hope to remain at Blog It in some form.)

P.S. Of course, there still is the archive of all the past columns. If you haven't seen them before, they're new to you.

By the way. . ,
you drifted today, Dear. Stay focused. I'm absolutely sure you'll be one of the top reads around this place once everybody realizes you are truly a "must read".

She would have been great!
I absolutely love Bea Arthur. I have watched every Golden Girls episode, and she has always been my favorite. As for Walt Disney, the man has had many rumors spread about him, and who knows, maybe some are true, but I doubt it. The latest that I heard was that he was frozen on ice, because he feared being buried underground. The man was a genius, and I love Disneyland, so I have no bad feelings towards him no matter what the rumor.

BTW, this isn't really relevant but...
the italicized exclamation point looks just like an "l". So, I didn't, like, just write the word "gagl"!

No question, David,
"War of the Worlds" is, by far, the better of the two. And, yes, I was referring to the "adorably precocious" Dakota Fanning. (Gag!)

Also, before I fall asleep (Hey! It is almost 5:30 PM!)... someone just expressed the following absurd sentiment: "another bad movie: adaptation" ... which I sincerely pray was some sort of sick joke. At any rate, I was wondering if she would like to take the opportunity to "recant" her statement here.

I like your review for "war of the worlds"

I am now thinking of your review of the not-so Fantastic 4. If you had to, which would you recommend, say the lesser of two evils?

Also, I had a ROFL moment when I saw "....the little twerp..."! You must be referring to Dakota Fanning huh?

SPOILER ALERT!!!!
Okay, I finally saw "War of the Worlds".

Now, in the beginning, the movie does have a certain, undeniable power. At least, as a great "spectacle". Even if the spaceships looked a little "dated" and the 9/11 reminders were both unnecessary and "out of place" (considering the silly storyline).

But, then, the film starts to unravel rapidly, once Cruise and the little twerp climb into the bunker with Tim Robbins (who, btw, appears to be reading from a different script than everyone else). Because, while they're down there, completely out of the blue, something unexpected happens... dopey looking aliens show up and ruin the movie.

Now I see why Stanley Kubrick opted not to show the aliens in "2001". I think he made a wise decision.

I am glad Marlon Brando did exactly what he did
Because in the book, he certainly drops dead of a heart attack! If they weren't going to be true to the book, I doubt if Puzo would have given his go ahead in the first place.

I sure never noticed that, blackcat.
Although, I'm not exactly a "Star Wars" fanatic. I really liked the films (well, the first three and the last one), but don't necessarily "live and breathe" them like many people. I bet the real "hardcore" fans caught the "Carrie" thing pretty quickly though.

posted by Mademoiselle on July 11, 2005 at 12:16 PM | link to this | reply

madame...

I've never heard that about Bea as Darth Vadar??  That's hysterical!

I do know that at the end of the movie, Luke yells out "Carrie!" to Princess Leia... and they left it in the movie.  No one ever notices!!!

Not so much in "Star Wars" jokes, mmm-w,
but taken out of their normal context, both Chewbacca and Yoda are absolute comic gold.

Although, hopefully, with age
I will become a better editor. That was, obviously, supposed to say "all things" (in my previous comment).

Anyways, thanks for the compliment, denanna!

Layla, you don't need to be a certain age...
to be an expert on "all thing".

For example, at parties, I often find myself surrounded by so-called "intellectuals", who feel the need to constantly display their incredible knowledge by tossing out obscure facts. So, what I do is go, "Yes, well, that is interesting. However, did you know that..." and then just totally make something up. What I learned was, if you say anything with enough conviction (i.e. loudly enough), people will tend to actually believe it.

I LOVE it!!!

How entertaining!  But wait!  You're not supposed to be OLD ENOUGH to know such things!!!  Hmmmm, madame--now you have me wondering!!!

But those facts?  LOVE them!  Please add more like that in the future!  I feel like I actually LEARNED something already, today!!!

Things that make you go hmmmm
I like trivia... Good stuff that few persons would know is especially beneficial.  Great stuff, kep it up.

i have to agree, (though personally i grow weary of star wars jokes.....)

thanks for your comment this morning.... very sweet. :)

Well, I wouldn't feel too bad for Bea Arthur...
she's fashioned quite a lucrative career simply out of being "man-ish". BTW, she ranks right alongside Yoda, Chewbacca, Ronald McDonald, Urkel & Screech (from "Saved By The Bell") as true "comedy stars". Any joke, regardless of it's quality or originality, that mentions any of those names automatically works.

lol.... poor bea arthur, she gets so much slack. it must be hard though to be so manly and yet a woman....

i loved the change of pace this morning.... nice and refreshing....

film school drop out huh? film school itself sounds very cool....
