well, offbeatpub, kissing ass may not be Dubya's strongest suit, but being

one sure the hell is.  His ignorance of and trampling of international law, his total disregard for international policies since being elected president, his running roughshod over anything that doesn't agree with his way of seeing things has united everyone in the worst way.  He's a fanatic and recognized as such by our European counterparts.  And I don't give a damn about UN resolution 441, his personal agenda got us into Iraq, not some spinned out bullshit about a resolution not being adhered to.

We are going to learn the hard way apparently, just as all great empires have in the past, that nothing last forever, and that includes superiority.  Fast coming up on us is the European Union and China, with India closing quickly also.  Given their populations and thier potential economic and military clout, it would behoove the United States (that is, Bush and others with thier we'll-do-as-we-damned-please attitudes) to start working on more amicable foreign policies.  We shouldn't let our arrogance preceed a terrible fall.

I have heard some stupid statements in my life, but this is by far the worst. Comparing the leader of the free world to Hilter. What kind of a person thinks like that??

yes, empty_handed_painter, and a very efficient one at that. Dubya is a
little more good-ol-boy, but, I think, just as much a fascist.

Saul
GW is a uniter. The problem is no one in the European nations wants to be a part of the solution. As far as I am concerned ( and a few million others like me) we really don't give a darn what Europe thinks. The UN should have acted on Ref 441 and due to their lack of interest, why should America sit by and allow unlawful acts to continue. France didn't want involved because of the weapons they had sold Saddam, The triple nozzle injectors (and they weren't designed for water guns either.) They're hands were dirty just like a few others, including Russia and Germany. So to hell with trying to unite the snakes, our President doesn't have to kiss any ass and by God I bet he doesn't either~~~
