thanks for all the fish
You can tell I like the Hitchhiker's Guide... Some things about your farmhouse saga remind me for some reason of the illogical perfect sense of Douglas Adams. I'm sure your monster is enjoying your learning experience -- I've known a few geese in my time -- and once you get that stove hooked up, you should keep in mind that they're edible. Roasted, a little mint jelly, a nice white wine, and you're in business. Thanks for your comment on my post... :)pat

Dear Joe,

Thanks for your comment in my new blog. As for living in nowheresville, I know a bit about that and often found myself missing miami (my hometown) but as years go by I began to accept living there and made a few interresting friends as well as poeple. But right now Im back in miami with my beautiful baby pup Linda(16 week old Yorkie) and my girlfriend/roommate but I still sometimes miss the open areas of my old home and town, here we have traffic everywhere on traffic time which makes it harder to get to your destination. I look forward to reading your next post. kep on blogging and live life to the fullest.

Take Care,Tara (aka LadyT)

Thanks for the comment sweetie...I'm a country girl through and through (as much as I sometimes deny it) so I get what you mean about your house! Ya can't see the stars in the city tho!

I'm sorry, I know it shouldn't, but the fact that you just call him "the monster" makes me laugh.  Though I hope you don't feel that way about him all the time!

This just reinforces why I don't want to move to the country ever again! lol I've only just discovered you, but I enjoyed the read!

Madame!!
You are such a daggone trip!! LOL He doesn't even know this blog exists! I figured it wouldn't be best, if somewhere down the road I got on a "you stole my youth!" kick and decided to vent through text.

By the way, I never ASKED advice about "how to live with a monster", so please don't let your creative little wheels start turning to much about it!!!!!

And I thought I had it bad . . .

Living in a house in the country while building it is quite a challenge.  Trying to survive the subzero freezing cold winters and getting snowed out of the house is not my idea of fun.  What keeps me motivated is knowing that instead of paying a mortgage company, I'm "paying myself" every month.  If the whole building/living process gets too overwhelming, I can always get a condo in town.

Looking forward to hearing more about the progress and process.  I'll post in my blog what led me down this path and the adventures that continue.  Check it out!

Good luck to you both!

How does the Monster feel about being...
referred to as such? Do you two, like, consider that a term of endearment? Or, is he unaware?

Cause my boyfriend and I much prefer exchanging "unpleasantries", to using the more traditional "lover's lingo".

ahhh....

i am sorry for you, for the frustrations....for what life must be like to blowdry your hair in the dark, BUT i had to laugh because in our house, if i don't do it, start it or take charge, it just won't happen....

so i can relate with where you stand.....

i say you call indiana jones and just say "ok buddy, what's it gonna take????"

Joe...I know you're new around here but I thought--

With your name, you'd make a good police lieutenant. So I included you in this week's episode of The Road Trip. Hope you don't mind.

Joe_Love, thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment.   Otherwise, I don't know how long it would have taken me to notice that you are here.    I read all of your posts just now.   Very fun read.    I think you have your work laid out for you for sometime to come.

Best be careful...
and do something with it soon, otherwise one of you is likely to break something in that 2 foot drop.

We used to have that problem in this house
Ours is from 1880, and when you ran more than one appliance the whole house would blow. We have all new electrical now, and it is a luxury to wash clothes and blow dry my hair at the same time. Oh, the things that humor us. Hehehe

Sounds like you have yourself quite a place there. I bet it could tell a hundred years worth of stories! Can you take a picture and post it? Would love to see it now and how it progresses for you!! I love old houses, even ones with rotten floors!! Love the thought of what it will look like after everything is done!!
