Cults that use ideological totalism, or fundamentalism, often employ some sort of mind control, also known as brainwashing or thought reform. Methods employed in ideological totalism include information control, social control, influence, coercion, manipulation, and sometimes force (Lifton 1991; Kliger 1994; Walsh, Russell & Wells 1995).
Information control
One method commonly used in totalism is the control of all communication within a given environment, which Lifton (1991) calls 'milieu control.' Kliger (1994), in studying a cultic organization based upon one man's interpretation of Eastern Religious scriptures, found evidence of information control.
Cult's dictation of a member's sexuality, diet, or occupation
A second method used in totalism is manipulation, either of recruits' needs (Kliger, 1990; Walsh, Russell, & Wells, 1995) or of the apparent level of control a recruit or member of a cult has (Ungerleider & Wellisch, 1979). Examples of manipulating a person's needs might be the cult's dictation of a member's sexuality, diet, or occupation (Kliger, 1990).
Mystical manipulation or planned spontaneity
A third method used in totalism is a process Lifton (1991) calls "mystical manipulation or planned spontaneity." This process is made to appear spontaneous to prevent the object of it from feeling manipulated. Techniques used include fasting, chanting, and limited sleep.

"Like I said, somtimes I have to draw inferences from very few available
clues, but if we agree that many children are exposed to extensive
"training," how is it that we're not seeing where and when it's done?
(Daycare centers would also provide good cover for this.) It's being done in
plain sight and we're not recognizing it. A grocery store transport cover
would be ingenious, in my opinion."

Authors of Mind-Control critics
appear to be religious fanatics who believe that the attempt to control the mind of others is possible thanks to Satan. They firmly believe in god. They often quote the Bible or the Gospels against the perpetretors of electronic mind control.

MKULTRA
"This book is one of the very best describing the MKULTRA government intelligence mind control programs. The visitor unaware of MKULTRA needs to keep in mind that 8 adult victims, out of several hundred adult and child victims, did successfully sue the CIA and WON. MKULTRA is not a hoax, and several hundred adult AND CHILD victims still await compensation and an official apology from the U.S. and Canadian governments. http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/lsd/marks.htm ...is an ON LINE version in case you can't find a copy to read or purchase.
