- Go to Woman Who Helped Husband Rape And Kill Own Sister Released
Well, Lensman, I can't say that a little Canadian "social justice" would
bother me a whole lot in this case. And although I am never one to condone working outside the law, there would be something satisfactory about seeing this woman expunged from the roster of the living, no matter how it was accomplished. And about the secondary type of punishment: she'll never go crazy enough to be absolved.

Good write-up and you've got all the facts right. I live up here in Canada and the whole Homolka/Bernardo affair has left a stain on the Canadian psyche. However, I've been interested to note the panicky state of mind Homolka has been increasingly developing as her release date has approached. She's apparently convinced that she's in danger from the public, and she's quite correct because, unlike a lot of notorious criminals who eventually slip from the public's memory, Homolka has always stayed in the forefront. She's still a fresh story. So perhaps, as she slips more and more into paranoia, a "phase 2" punishment will commence. She'll never really be able to enjoy freedom. She now will have to contend with "jungle law." She can try altering her appearance, etc., but there are too many eyes on her to completely get away with that. I'm sure somebody would find her out.

She'll never escape it
Whether in prison or on "the outside", she'll never be able to escape what she has done.
Interesting story.
