there ought to be a reality show for bloggers, like "so you want to be a Hilton", or "So you want to be a dancer",  except that it probably would be the most boring show ever: "This is Maryx blogging...five hours later, this is Maryx still blogging"

My point exactly! Popularity and super-stardom are not always the perfect partners. You can be No. 11 or 392 and still have a following of some sort that still encourage you to write!

It's nice to be optimistic once in a while. So many people are on here that have something to say - many are pessimistic, sarcastic or emotionally distraught. They still find their niche in the writing world with an audience of sorts. Who says we can't all have a bit of super-stardom, even if it is only amongst a few friends! But definitely your point is taken about the increasing size of the blogging world. It was interesting to see how people would take to this particular fortune cookie! Happy blogging.

Ah, this is true optimism. I think the blogging world may not be that forgiving, and we know it is expanding astronomically. Our little Blogitville is just a fragment of the overall population. I hope you are right, though; it gives everyone something to shoot for. Hemlocker
