We have fleas, too.
Our cats never go outside, have not been to the vet since last year, yet we are infested. We have used Frontline and a spray from the vet. The fleas are not all gone yet. We will have to take the cats to the vet after 7/11 (allowing time to elapse from the Frontline treatment) and have them treated again!
Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated. We've never had this problem with inside cats before!

Don't leave your cats outside, it's too dangerous.
Invest in some Frontline or Advantage from the vet and it will take care of it. Cats do not, contrary to some beliefs, belong outside. It often is against city ordinance as well. Their life span goes from 3 or 4 to 17 on average. The fleas can make you and your family sick, so the investment in the medicine is worth it. The bombs are good to kill what's in the house, and I recommend a bath with flea shampoo first, then the Frontline or Advantage. You may see a few here and there for the next 7 to 10 days, but that will be it. I volunteer in an animal sanctuary, do animal sanctuary, and have had cats for 20+ years.

I feel for ya
I had a house that got infested with fleas. It was a booger getting rid of them! Had to bomb the place 3 times before I got rid of them.
