very good
but someone will come along and comment on how to get to Heaven.
But it's what people believe
salvation is what keeps you stable.

gomer
the fear of death underlies all of the religious rites and incantations used. but does it work? no. we are still afraid. we mumble to ourselves when someone 'buys it' in a car wreck. or when someone kills himself, everyone falls silent. what will happen to poor so and so? the fear causes the need to cling to the known, which further alienates us from the unknown. we are caught in a vicious cycle that has no resolution, other than to see it for what it is: false.

David1Spirit -- I liked your closing sentence
we tend to think in terms of how far we've evolved without ever considering our present status and how far we will evolve.  This era is likely to be viewed by future historians as the age of religious confusion.

How very true!

People seem to think that "heaven" depends on what actions or thoughts we have as mortal and flawed humans. We are definitley that: Flawed!!

Does anyone really think that a being as powerful and omnipotent as our creator is into things like rules, fury anger and judgment? Nope! We ain't here to pass some "celestial test" in order to "save our souls", which is what many people think.

We are just spiritual beings. We have evolved from primates and are ever continuing our increasing awareness and consciousness. At some point in time, mankind will acheive that highest level of awareness; and mankind of today will be viewed as the realitve "neanderthals" that we are!
