A Medusa opinion? I'll look it up.

Yes, I recognise some of my pieces are too long - I'm worn out by the end of 'em! So I pity the poor reader!

I know you won't see this, dang it!!! But guess what...I had an opinion to express!!! But....I put it in my Everything Else blog..........I know.....bad, bad, bad......

Limey believe it or not I do agree with you to a point
I brought this up a few times. We had someone in the Humor section, who wrote anything but humor but for some reason it was high in the rankings so I think that some readers don't care, they just read. But also it may help some writers with their subject matter. But again we pay our money and Blogit doesn't say where we have to post except in MA. I use to post my blog AS I See It in the Opinion section but changed to News and Politics, it probably could have gone either way, same as in the US.

Calm down. You're doing a great job. Your work's just in the wrong place, that's all - in my humble opinion!

You're exactly right and I wholeheartedly agree. I wrote a pice sometime back called "Navel Gazers" which made the point that too many blogit bloggers use it as a pillow to cry into. Right on, mate!

You are so right, and don't I know it....I just get so turned around in my blogs, so out of order...there's no excuse and I'm sorry it confuses you and throws your sense of world order and what's right and all that so out of kilter....you dear, sweet, little left brained man.  I will try to do better. I'm new at this whole writing thing and words are just tumbling out so fast I can't sleep, I get and write....no discipline whatsoever....I admit it! I'm out of control...but I really will try to do better....thank you for the reprimand.

No appropriate section? Then why write the piece in the first place? Just a thought.

PS No, I'm hardly ever shocked.

I did include 'others.' And, no, I haven't considered Blogit's rules. This item is simply my opinion about Opinion!

Ms N Dependence
I wasn't aware of that. But I'm sure you did it better.

It seems I have my uses - occasionally!

You're right about Krisles' story. But, well written or not, I think it should be found a more appropriate home.

All the best.

What do you mean? You're not even on my list.

Yes, of course I can stand your opinion: you're all opinion, and that's just how I like it.

Do I agree with you? No, of course not. (Well sometimes, perhaps).

You're black, you say? So what? I'm white. And you may have noticed some people are yellow and others albino.

The point is you're American. And Americans are responsible for so much that's wrong with this world. Hence this blog.

First, apologies for my gender-bender cock-up.

So which section will you move to? Your followers need to know, you know.

Of course there's room for everyone. But are they writing for the most appropriate section? Some are clearly not.

Yes, OK - you're not too bad at putting words in order. And modest, too!

Take care - and don't get bitten.

PS I have to admit, I have very little time to read long items, so many get ignored. But that's another story.

You call this piece provocative? Wait till I get started.

You’re right: everyday-life pieces – humorous or otherwise - have their place, but its hardly Opinion.

PS A couple of questions. 1) Why should being misunderstood equate with being a “bad” person? I don’t quite understand. 2) Are your notebooks full of shorthand?

Actually...
That's a legitimate point.  I've gradually become guilty of letting my Dadgum blog become a catch-all spot, which happens to have come to rest under Opinion, mainly because I'm guessing that's how people recognize me now.  Perhaps I'll solve it by creating a Dadgum II for "Everything else".  (I am enjoying Krisles' story, though, no matter where it is)  Anyway, with a little nudge, I'm gradually learning my way around here... Cheers

My opinion? You can't stand my opinion.

I've given you, specifically, my opinion, on several occasions. And to date, you haven't responded. Oops, let me correct that, you did respond to my responce to your post on angry bovine desease. So, I'll correct myself. And just remember, Limey, my ancestors are the folks your ancestors put on the slave auciton block, along with my black brothers. Does that mean I'm supposed to hate Brits? No, I don't think so. I've met too many good folks, and trained with too many good soldiers to allow the thoughtless, barbaric actions of your ancestors to influence my opinion of present day folks.

How's that for an opinion.

It's not just the Opinion category that has posts which aren't related to the category. Although I personally try to post mainly opinions in my OP blog and journal entries in my Journal blog, there are times when a post doesn't fit one or the other, but I still want to post it. So then I have to pick one because I'm not going to start a new friggin' blog just because my post is mis-categorized. But I do agree (shocked again aren't you!) that as a general rule, bloggers should try to stick to posting in the proper category.

Limey,

Are we sure that all of these poor opinionless souls are American or have you only assumed on the basis of their shameless refusal to adhere to the strict bolg deliniation guidelines?

Very funny, regardless.

Governor you are absolutely right. My post does not belong in Opinion section. This I will change and I hope this satisfies the Chancellor of the Exchequer. This is the second time, because I do not have an “about me” page that my gender has been incorrectly stated. Indeed, I’m a bloody male. I do thank you for the mention.

Limey, Love...Glad to see you respect the chick with the snake hair, Medusa
I knew you respected my writing... I understand what you are trying to describe here, however. I believe the more you write, the better you become at it. Some writers you don't care for might be novices. But that's okay, too. I think there is room here for everyone......Ah, well, I know I'm darn good, but I've been writing and writing for years. I can't do math well, but put a pen in my hand, and I feel most comfortable. We all have opinions, and expressing them beautifully is a challenge all writers face. Cheerio you fine Brit.

Aren't you the provocateur.  I do agree some bloggers would be better placed in other categories--myself in fiction, perhaps.  What bothers me is not that many people in Opinion don't express the meaty range of emotions you think should be here, but that the folksy reflections on everyday life in "the mundane world" as committed yogis call it, seem to be the most popular.  Some entries that I have read, I think for a moment, hear my inner voice saying "hmm, okay" and as I'm about to move on, I notice that the post received 49 comments. Why is this so?  They strike a somewhat universal chord in others, they are often humorous, and sometimes they even take risks.  I am not too good at writing that way, although I think if one is going to write effective dialogue in stories and novels, it is a good skill to cultivate.  I'd like to reach a wider readership, and I hate to be so misunderstood that some people consider me a "bad" person, but, although I'd like to be more popular, that's not why I'm here.  I have hundreds of notebooks that I've just thrown in drawers (uh oh, what's that in real English?) and forgotten.  Thanks to Blogit, I'm digging some of them out and doing transcriptions.  I never had the energy before to do this.  Hemlocker

Their writing means nothing? On the contrary - anyone who puts fingers to keyboard is worth of respect. But some of the stuff in this section should not be here: it is not 'Opinion'.

On the other hand, your comment is very well placed!

A buried viewpoint or 'something' isn't an opinion. Think newspapers, think opinion columns. The writers of these pieces - and editorials - are firm in their beliefs and say so with conviction. Vague drivel is no what it's about

I'm sure somewhere in their post is a viewpoint or opinion of something.  Does it need to be a raving lunatic opinion for it to count?   ;)
