mary - that's a dreadful story! Nowadays, I hope it just wouldn't happen. But I have heard that various not so nice incidents do occur. A sign of the times I suppose.

Talion - the sticker was my way of dealing with mid-life crisis I guess. So, I would hate to see it go. I think I'll just wait and see. But you are right - it is a sad indictment on the state of this world.

The only problem I see
with this whole thing, is what can they charge him with. Maybe one of those big burly security guys could take him around back and have a talk with the fellow about the dangers of leaving notes on women's windshields, but that may be about all that they can really do, if that's all he is doing.

Ca88,
Security's reaction proves your intuition was right on: too weird, possibly dangerous. Especially since you're on a university campus, they're right to take it seriously, stalkers would see a college as a candy store, lots of potential female targets. I'm glad they're taking it seriously. There have too many incidents in the past on campuses, where they didn't and it ended badly. I remember back in the 80s, registration gave out a girl's class schedule, her stalking ex-boyfriend found her and shot her.

He has some nerve though.
Or maybe he's just silly to leave his number. At least security will have no difficulty finding him if the number's on the up and up.

Yuck.
Too strange. Hopefully they know who the guy is for sure and can put a stop to it. Since there was more than one note left, I don't think you really need to feel targeted. He probably doesn't remember which cars he leaves notes on from day to day. Turn the note in, and unless you hear otherwise, I'd put it out of your mind.

The windshield stalker
is probably someone who works there and notices who comes and goes on a daily basis. In Dallas those kinds of notes are usually neon pink with a 1-800 number!

The thing this has revealed is maybe you shouldn't have that bumper sticker on your car. Just like a woman can no longer leave info on an answering machine that implies she lives alone, it seems she can't have anything on or in her car that implies the same. It's a sad commentary on the state of the world, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

wow... that's really interesting.... odds are its not someone that wicked or the phone number probably wouldn't have happened...... probably someone really desperate to date.... a stalker would likely have hung out, waited, watched and then followed...
i am glad you reported it though, none the less.
