Painter, a place where all men and women of good mind and seeking of wisdom come to. You remind me of G. James Stewart who wrote "Transcended Christian" which I made my first post on Illuminations. We don't have to give up the gifts given in scripture, but we can free ourselves from the demented abuses imposed by priests (and Kings) that keep us in ignorance to our Nature by dividing our hearts from our minds.

I think you are correct, religions are badly in need of an overhaul. Christianity hardly resembles anything that Christ stood for and represented. I don't think what is happening in teh church today was in Jesus' plan when He said "come follow me", I'm still chasing after the hem of his garment but I don't do religiosity, dogma, or church formality.
