I don't pretend that my opinion is gospel or anything...

It's just, with all the media coverage it's hard not to form some sort of opinion, especially based on all the 1108 evidence, etc.  It was just my humble opinion and hey, I reserve the right to change my mind at any point!

Do I think the guy can perform better than most people out there these days?  Absolutely!  Do I have a few M.J. CD's?  I'd be lying if I said I didn't.  And, I'd also be lying if I said I hadn't put one on yesterday and danced around with my kids to some of them tunes!

My feeling that he is "probably" guilty of said crimes does not take away from his merit as a great performer, one of the best in my lifetime for sure, and it won't take away from my respect for his talents and abilities.  But, with all the case coverage it was hard not to form some sort of opinion.  Just the way I am, I guess.

I wasn't trying to suggest that Americans should feel ashamed about it.  I meant everyone who's had an opinion on the whole crap fest.  Most people know that America doesn't send its stars to jail - they're too good for the economy.  Besides, if Dubya can get away without being locked up then what's stopping Jackson?  Nowt, that's what

Rachel

I love you, but I don't think you or anyone is in a position to say Jackson is 'probably' guilty.  The truth is, no one outside Neverland will ever know what really happened because the whole situation is encased in multiple layers of bullshit, as created by wealthy legal robbers and ratings hungry news programs.

I haven't been following the court case because the truth is no one will ever know the truth.  All I know for sure is Jackson looks like a weirdo but he can dance pretty good.  Oh, and his sister's choice in nipple decor is grim, to say the least.

Hmm....I would say that the only people who know for definite whether he is innocent are himself, and those children who he may or may not have molested.

As for his lyrics, he could possibly be referring to his paedophile habits, but he could also be referring to a lot of other things as well.  Man in the mirror, for example, could be about him changing his ways towards his wife/girlfriend, as opposed to changing his ways towards nieces and nephews and other small beings.

Yes he has overpaid by a long way...must be one of the most expensive "intimate wanks" in all history.

Oh, and on a more serious note,
as to what Rachel said, yeah, the jurors did come forward and talk. To me, they seemed to all be a bit ashamed of the verdict. I think it was due to the fact that they couldn't convict due to "reasonable doubt." Ya know why? Cause the mother (a main witness to testify) was of one of the alleged kids Jackson molested. She had a horrible, bitchy, in yo' face attitude toward the jurors and even literally snapped her fingers at them while on the stand. The fact that she has been previously busted on fraudulant welfare charges and has tried to sue everyone for anything in the past completely discredited her character and honesty. See, so that right there goes to show what jurors are basing their judgment on. And it's certainly not based on the evidence presented. There was much more evidence presented which was obviously ignored. Oh well. Another one free and another child molester and freak is free to go. Hmmm, and some still believe that if MJ was just some average Joe, he'd still have had a fair trial. Uh-huh.

Chrissy,
I haven't quite decided whether to be more embarrassed to be an American due to Dumbass Dubya, the current war, all the $$ spent on "eliminating prostitution" and the "war on drugs," or the celebrity criminal trials. Decisions decisions. What's an American girl to do?

LOL

Good post, and so very true.

Unfortunately, if you kept up with the case, the prosecutors didn't prove the molestation.  They had a kid on the stand, but his credibility just didn't hold up.  In the way of physical evidence, there was nothing.  And the whole conspiracy thing really fucked with the D.A.'s credibility.  They should have just dropped that part of it since they couldn't get all the evidence in to really justify the charge and perhaps the jury could have focused more on the overt acts of molestation.

We all know that he's probably (!) guilty of molesting children.  There is no doubt in my mind, but I followed the case really closely and have to say I am not surprised at the outcome.  There is one thing to have a gut feeling that the guy molests children which is a feeling I share, but it was not proven in the court.  Many of the jurors have come out since the verdict and said they believe that he is guilty of  messing with kids, unfortunately, working within the limitations of the law they couldn't convict him.

It sucks, but that's the way it works.

If you play the same CD backwards...

...there's a message where he confesses to making Mike Tyson his leather bitch.  Or it's a message about wanting to eat cranberry oatmeal.  You need a turntable that plays at 78rpm and several peyote buttons to hear it.

Actually, now it sounds like Macaulay Culkin eating something squishy.  This is quite alarming.

Great post Chris
What about his music? I believe that he has admitted wrong doings through his lyrics at various times. Remember his song "The man in the mirror"? His lyrics say that he is looking at the man in the mirror, and I am asking him to change his ways. What is that? I know he is guilty because he has shown classic signs of pedophilia. He still has to face God though.
