I think you're jumping to conclusions
on the heart thing. Check out your symptoms and see if they correspond to heart failure. I think you haven't really been diagnosed yet and I don't think its as serious as you fear.

I've had tests and do have
diuretics, but it is beyond just diuretics. In my experience, my problem has to get very bad before the doctors figure out what it is. I think that it is congestive heart, but they don't think so. But Ill see.

You're obviously retaining fluid
The first thing you need to find out is why and your doctor can tell you that. You may need a diuretic.

Make2short-Join the low or no salt club! Since you may be new to this - here are suggestions (from experience): Season well with garlic & onion powder, black or cayenne pepper, etc.,.especially paprika, a good source of potassium as are bananas. Check labels for salt content. Cook from scratch as much as possible using only a tiny bit of salt or cheese. I've found a Havarti cheese with less salt than other types. But its the wide choice of seasonings other than salt that help. Also lots of fruits & vegs.
