too many "Indians"

I really appreciate your blog.  If you visit mine, I think you'll find we have a lot of common ground.

I will add, however, that in my church, there is a problem with people who only want to be "Indians."  I find most people in the church are all too glad to let someone else "do it"... what ever that is.  They want to sit back and receive the benefit of someone else taking the time.  They refuse to commit their own time to God's service, especially if it is a recurring commitment such as teaching or serving on any kind of committee.  I think this happens for many reasons with the most common being a simple lack of commitment, they feel needy themselves, they don't feel qualified, they feel they simply don't have time (often because their kids are so active in sports), and because they fear someone will say they are unworthy because of some past sin.
