At least you caught a glimpse of JJ's breathtaking bosom: most of us missed it.

Who are these nice Britons? Mop-top Liverpudlians or royalty?

I'm not really interested in Hollywood. However, we both acknowledge it does produce pornographic films. And we also agree State-approved brothels operate in Nevada.

As I have said many times before, this blog is not about other countries but about America - the leader of the western world, which according to its own publicity is the model others should follow.

Amen.

FYI --

According to a just released study by the Dove Foundation, family related movies such as G and PG types do better than R rated movies. R rated films lose, on average, $6.9 million per movie and yet Hollywood produces 12 times the R rated movies than  G or PG.  So although Hollywood would like the world to think that Americans are, in general, a bunch of sex crazed, violence craving idiots, in reality, our preferences are more mainstream and conservative.  Obviously, a lot of the G and PG popularity is because children are able to see these movies, thereby increasing profits.  So why Hollywood is fixated on making R rated movies is beyond me.  Although I'm a native of California, I've always felt that the left wingers of tinsel town living in the land of fruits and nuts most definitely do not represent the majority of Americans.

You've made some wild generalizations by pointing out the Nevada prostitution outfits and extrapolating those (relatively extremely few) sex crazed people to the entire American population.  A majority of Americans tend to be more on the conservative side (to some degree or another), and I would stick my neck out to say that a majority are content to enjoy sex within the privacy of their own bedrooms.

Oh, and regarding pornography, there has been quite a "murmur" against it, but I'm betting you would not be aware of it.  There are many Christian ministries out there working exclusively with those (mainly men) addicted to pornography.  A lot of counseling is being done within churches and other organizations, working with people to overcome these addictions.

If you're honest with yourself, you'd agree that pornography and prostitution are problematic the world over.  Be honest, truly honest, and with nary a glimmer of hypocrisy.

Oh, but I forgot. We Americans are the only hypocrites in the world, eh?  Yeah.

Limey: hyprocrisy is the overriding reason that we have more psychiatrists

and psychologists per square inch than any other country.  But as to Janet Jackson's revealing moment, I saw it and knew every half-drunk Christian in the country was screaming at the tube.  But so was I:  "The other one, Justin!  Now!  The other one!  For god's sake, pay attention, you girly sounding man!"

Oh, and I don't hate Brits.  I don't know any to hate.  LOL.  That's not true; I know several Brits and they all are nice people.

But how real are the reality shows? By that I mean they are, surely, highly controlled and operate within certain boundaries? We have them here, I'm sorry to say.

Limes - more puzzling...
the networks here censor images of the war, yet "reality" shows are all the rage.

I should hope you don't allow your children to watch unsuitable material. Here, we have a 'watershed' to ensure they are protected.

Dogs don't complain and are always welcoming.

As you know only too well, you have it the wrong way round. The British fought alone for two years while you Americans ditheredfffsd on the sidelines about what to do. And it cost a lot of British lives.

And to think I missed it!

PS But legal brothels in America? I'm amazed. I thought your men always went to Asian countries to take advantage of the local girls.

We Americans like everything rowdy and in your face UNLESS it involves children watching it we like to keep our children out of the loop.

In the interest of world peace ...Please explain why the English love their dogs more than sex?

Your country
You Britons have puzzled over a lot of things for a lot of years, like, whether or not you would fight to defend your own country! You bastards wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for the United States! You'd be learning German in your schools. You hate us..we also hate you!

If the media had not grabbed hold of the boob story (pardon the pun) and showed it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...

Well I think you get my drift.

Firstly, I had to look up what you meant by MA.

Secondly, having done so, I find all those conditions - with mention of state laws and federal laws - ratheroff-putting.

So perhaps I'm right about Americans and sex?

fwmystic is right! I forgot! It's the Madonna/whore thing - it absolutely rules our sexual psyches over here.

It's really this simple ...
sex has to be considered "dirty" or "perverted" for your average US male to get turned on.

I can't believe that every culture isn't full of hypocrisies; although, I do believe that America probably has more than most and I think it might have something to do with the "melting pot" aspect of our development...and an odd carryover from that Victoria creature - oh, and don't forget our oft noted "infancy".  I have found it interesting on here that there are people who won't click my innocent blogs, or at least comment if they do....and I have a very sneaky suspicion that it is because I write regularly in the MA......I mean, I know better than to expect them to comment there!  I am only guessing this because of my number of clicks vs comments...and it fits with the very thing your comment addresses.  Or, perhaps I just don't want to face the truth.....sigh.

Brilliant from head to toe? Funny you should say that ...

And, no, we're not hypocritical about sex over here. Didn't you see the show 'No Sex, Please, We're British!'? Says it all.

I'll take a quick look at your post.

Is the cash still rolling in?

You've got me on that one.

But do you know the background to The Crazy Frog Song? It's been released on the back of a TV commercial for a particularly annoying ringtone. The ad features a manic, motorbike-riding frog and a terrible noise (presumably the ring).

I understand he Swede who's behind all this has made an absolute killing. (However, he doesn't seem to he realise most of us would kill him and his creation given half a chance).

it is hypocritical if you think about it....   I guess this is where "children are watching" is shoved into the picture to create argument nationwide...   Maybe when you have special channels and markets for 'that' stuff then anything of an 'indecent' nature shown on normal channels does create an uproar
