Surely it's hypocritical to say one thing and do another? People should try to stick by their principles - if they have any - whether they are American, British or even New Zealanders.
But, of course, this is not and end-of-the-world matter.

Good post, Limey. But I take L.E.Gant's post as a tongue-in-cheek sort of
thing (could be wrong). Your point about supporting your favorite writers is valid, though. It is no different supporting Ariala and kingmi as, say, buying a novel by Stephen King or a magazine with a short story by David Brin or Chelsea Quinn Yarbro.
And JJWilde: Didn't Merle Haggard sing that line in "Fightin' Side Of Me"?

JJ Wilde,
That should not be uttered in a public forum. There are some very sensitive Americans in here who think they came from nothing!

Limey,
Is that a ''
if you don't love it, leave it'' post Limey? That, by the way, is a quote from the Merle Haggard song
Okie From Muskogee. I daresay, you seem to have a bit of the American attitude soaking into you. That's not a complaint, mind you, just a commentary note. You have to be careful here. We were once Brits ourselves, you know.

Fear not, I understand.
I understand that if, as you say, you were among the top 50 it's up to you to take your own advice and go.

in an open, competitive environment such as Blogit
L.E. Gant have every right to call for people to resign for whatever reason, just as everyone has a right to tell L.E. Gant to go and get knotted.
This is a lot of fuss over nothing. It's kind of like people complaining about all the filth they have to see on telly or listen to on the radio. They have the stomach to watch and listen to that which they despise, but they can't seem to muster the musclepower to change the station.
I don't know why L.E. Gant would call for people's resignations. I never read the post. (I may now, though.) But that is certainly a prerogative of anyone who pays to write here.
It's an opinion.

Limey: Another person who doesn't understand English or humour? You're right in that I'm calling Blogit a club, and, whether you realise it or not,at the time of writing, I was myself among those top 50 bloggers. Whether I get clicks or not, I will continue adding posts, and, as always, I don't give a damn whether people read them or not.

the one serious flaw in Blogit, which has seldom
been mentioned, in my reading of posts and comments. But since this is a competitive field, if I mention it, it will be in a blog post of my own.

Limey,
I did not read L.E. Gant's post! But your response post is great and makes excellent points! There are those who come here it influence or badger others with their opinion! These people are most discouraged and leave. As you so well stated it Blogit is a market place of free ideas! The people who chose to inform are far more successful than those who seek to influence!
I will read it though for reference!
