I forgot to add something...a good tip...if someone seems like they're not doing their job, they're probably the ones that talk the most crap about you. too much time on their hands, they're miserable and don't have lives of their own, so they try to sabotage someone else's happiness. Keep smiling!

some friendships work
and some don't...I've discovered I can't be friends with the labor faker types...even working in a government agency, seems sometimes 85% of the folks in my office fit this category!!!

If you hate your job that bad, you gotta leave.
I just went through a lot of similar things as you. I finally just said to myself that this wasn't worth it, and quit. I found a new job a week later. Its a fresh start, and I'm much happier now.
