Raine,

Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts. I appreciate your prayers. I am quite aware that apart from our prayers, we are also helped by those prayers that are said for us by other. I pray for lots of things, mercy, blessings etc, but I only think about favour in relationship to particular experiences that I have and projects that I want to complete. The irony is that I am perfectly aware that without God's favour, I can do and accomplish nothing.

Thanks again for dropping by. Yourself and Ainsley-Jo have now inspired me to write about something else that I have been thinking about for a while, but just have not written down.

Let patience have her perfect work!

In James 1:2-4 says,

"My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.  But let patience have her perfect work...that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."

While God has given us all a measure of faith (Romans 12:3), faith is the "muscle" of our spiritual being.  It cannot be developed without hardness or difficulty.  Using your example of the iron and water, can you image how difficult it was to the borrower to see that axe go into the water.  No doubt, he worried and grieved over the repayment of an axe he lost!  It was the favour of God through faith in His ability to restore that which was lost.  Yes, I want God to strengthen my faith; but these days-I pray for God's favour.  It is His mercy and favour that gives me the strength to allow patience and faith to be worked in me!

Great reflections-I will pray God favour's in your life that you will be faithful to His work through you.

Ainsley, I went through and took down all the stuff
because the blog was read so little. On another note, faith is always a work-in-progress for me.

We can but pray and believe in our God.
I believe that our faith grows day by day as he reveals himself to us.
