Ooops..forgot to leave a comment!
Everything you said is so true. The words are a tangible way of remembering or of motivating you to check things off as they are done..I love doing that!! So Cass..you should join the Goals Game! ;) That spurs me on..and several others I hope! ;-)

CA88,
Lists become more and more important as life becomes more and more complicated. Or is it the other way around? Maybe life becomes more and more complicated as lists become more and more important. Or am I just confusing myself as I try to find my #1 list? I am going to start keeping a #1 list that is a list of all of my other lists and where I have put them.
The biggest problem is deciding whether I am complicating by simplifying. LIST!! Where the hell did I put it? Now I can't find my list of lists. Oh well. If I quit looking, maybe it will find me. I would try putting it on the computer, but that project is on a listed list...I think. And besides, what would I do if I was in a hurry and the computer was off? I would have to get a laptop, because if my list was on the computer, I ''couldn't leave home without it.''
Oh Dear.... You have given me problems.

JJ

wordsmith - we have a program at work that creates lists of things to do for each client, but I also create my own lists at work. At home I have to write down things to do or I just forget them.

Lists are good.. You will love Africa, be sure to journal there. Going back to the list, of which without I am lost. If it is errand day, I better have the list. Sometimes with the list I forget the dumbest things, like the dry cleaner, etc. Thank goodness for my computer which is programmed to give me the high priorty list first thing in the morning.. I hope you achieve every objective you have set out for yourself, somehow I think you will..

Oh how true.. Without lists, I am totally lost. I am the types to forget while driving, which way to take to reach a particular shop/house, watever. I have to park my car, and re-trace the route!

Ca88andra,
Nope, no lists right now. My life right now is simple enough. Besides, I have listophobia, meaning as soon as I've written it down, I instantly get a fear of accomplishing it, and stress endlessly. I'd rather write down what I did after the fact and gloat about it.

I'm not one for making lists. As soon as I get it down on paper, it changes so I keep it all a jumbled mess in my head. Then I conveniently forget stuff and start all over. The cycle repeats.
