Hey, mary_x, are you watching television through my living room window?
You named all the shows I won't miss, except
Grey's Anatomy and
NYPD Blue (which has run its course). And if you are watching, then you already know that Keifer made it through another season, but now is officially "dead", having to fake his own death at the end of the show to keep from getting sanctioned by a secret service agent sent to pick him up and keep him from being interrogated by the Chinese (part of a twist in the plot where they needed information they could only obtain from someone at the Chinese Embassy in L.A.). So, Jack Bauer did "die", but Kiefer Sutherland will be back to reprise his role next year.

It is hard to keep suspense at such a breakneck speed, L.E.Gant.
But 24 does it better than any show I've ever seen. And you're right; they do send you down a few blind alleys before getting to the right street. But, then, a lot of thriller/suspense novels do the same.

I agree that the set-up and the idea behind 24 is great. However, from the first two (three?) series, it seems that the writers can't quite sustain the suspense. They work extremely well for the first 10 hours, but then there sems to be a series of twists for the sake of adding another 14 hours, most of which make the first 14 hours full of red herrings - more twists than a year of soap operas!
Usually, though, the last couple of hours are extremely good - it's the part between (roughly) episode six and episode 22 that spoils the whole for me.

Oh, and btw, just out of curiosity, I'd like to know if Kiefer Sutherland gets blown up. I don't have anything against him personally, but I'm not a big fan, either. No accounting for taste.

Saul,
LOL, I draw the line at "Touched By An Angel", and I wouldn't admit it out loud if God did talk to me. CSIs New York and Vegas (I cannot stand whathisname on Miami), Anthony Lapaglia on "Without a Trace", Vincent D'Onofrio on Law & Order (he's just a little "edgy" in a good way), and "House" which is on tonight: the best of both worlds, medical/detective. But this hiatus is going to wreak havoc on my schedule.

Yeah, mary_x, I've seen the promos and previews. I'm not much into
the angels and god tallks to me shows, nor am I into supernatural stuff too much, like "Medium."

Understandably, Joan is kind of a "chick flick", and the "heroine" is a teenage girl.

mary_x, those are some of my favorite shows also.
Except for Joan. But I am sympathetic (and I've never seen the show).

Saul,
The final episodes of a couple of my favorite shows have come on. CSI Vegas, Without a Trace, Cold Case. In all of them, the "cliffhanger" is who gets killed off the show. Unfortunately for me, Joan of Arcadia is not getting picked up for another season. Whatever shall I do?

I watch a lot more than I used to, but, then, there is a lot more
programming that is better produced and written these days. (Of course, there's a helluva lot of stuff out there, and most of it is garbage, so you still have to sift through it to find the good stuff.) You should check out 24, Hammock, on DVD. It's a helluva ride.

Don't you hate commercials.
I do. I've never seen this show. I don't watch a lot of TV.
