So much so I wonder how the stereotype of blacks in America can be so horribly skewed. I commend your honesty and your willingness to take on the issues so germaine to the race struggles in America. This is all coming from a semi-reformed "prejudiced" slice of white bread.
Let me ask an honest question, is realizing that there are very real differences between the races, racist? What I call reality, politically correct jerk-offs call racism. I find it appaling that they shove their ideas about how everyone is the same down our throats and try to ignore history. And not just the history of the USA, but the injustices of centuries that we know about. The ugliness has always been there, why do they cry when it rears it's ugly head.
I'll go one step further and say that the black man will one day inherit the position of dominance that us whities have been holding on to like grim death. Do I fear that? Hell yes! I don't want to be treated the way Blacks in America are treated!!!
I hope this was taken with the grain of salt on the side. I've been following your blog for a little while and I enjoy your perspectives.

Including a business owner for the mere reason of color ( or age ) so that their board or group is considered well-rounded, would be insulting to anyone with half a brain. That kind of generalization grates my frazzled nerves. Why couldn't they base their inclusions on silmilarity of views, success ( in business ) and merit solely?

I agree with that.
All they are saying is that legally they have to diversify so they are asking you to be their token African-American. What an insult! If they are going to invite you to be on their boards or whatever, they should invite you for the same reasons they invite anyone else. If they don't want to do that, then the least they could do is be honest and say it...that the only reason they are asking you is because they are required to "diversify". Those that respect and admire you will come calling and in a much nicer way. They are the smart ones.
