Galloway
I make of him a hero--though admittedly of the flawed variety from which there seems to be no escape these days. Are we better off without any kinds of heroes, or must we continue to tolerate heroic villains or villainous heroes or simply villains, depending on which points of view exceptionally clever propaganda machines have led us to believe are our own? From the sound of it,
Galloway said next to nothing in his own defence. Instead, he simply opted for a prolonged and vicious attack on US foreign policy. Admittedly that is a very soft target, but it is ultimately a smoke screen from his own alleged guilt.

Limey,
Galloway stops short of entertaining, to me, because he's one of a set of national leadership and possibly involved in a scandal of tremendous proportions -- one which which cost thousands of lives. It would be entertaining if his position weren't so high and so influential. But I understand his "making a stand" against the corrupt and imperial Yank government is good for nationalism and his party image. I would never imagine he'd say, "Yeah, I did it, guv. It's a fair cop." I would rather hear what he has to say in his honest defense, not what he has to say as a politician and a nationalist. The two versions aren't necessarily the same.
As I wrote before, I think he and Coleman are made for each other, vying for better positions in their respective next national administrations. This is looking less like a run for the truth than a run for office. I would not like to see either as a diplomat, nor do I see either as even a mediocre example of his country's calibre. We can do better, but we settle for what we get. Every time.
Side note: Permanent attack mode is good in video games -- and entertaining in theory. In practice, however, in anything other than a war it detracts and distracts. With all the talk of statesmanship, cooperation and all, on both sides of the Atlantic, the talk certainly does appear to be quite, quite cheap, dunnit?

Like you, I hope the truth will come out over this war.
Meanwhile, you must admit Galloway is entertaining, if nothing else; and it takes pluck to beard the lion in his den.
PS He seems to be in permanent attack mode. You should have seen him against Jeremy Paxman on Newsnight.

Ms N Dependence
I enjoy watching and listening to anyone who has the balls to take an independent* line and get re-elected.
By the way, Galloway's party - his own, having got chucked out of the Labour Party - is called Respect.
PS*I thought you'd enjoy that!

While I'm no big fan of...
The White House or the United Nations, I can't say I'm terribly impressed with MP Galloway's conduct. I understand that statesmanship and genuine civil discourse has gone out the window except on paper, but I don't really see grandstanding in the face of grandstanding much to brag about.
I don't know whether or not MP Galloway is indeed guilty of what he is accused, but history has more often than not shown us that the louder the protest and more braggadocio the protest... usually the more there is something to hide.
"Methinks the lady doth protest too much."
I'm glad it's not my call in any of this. Messrs. Galloway and Coleman seem made for each other, if current behavior is any measure. They are welcome to one another. I'm sure the truth will come out at some point.
I am also quite amazed at how much nationalism goes into the condemnation of "rampant American nationalism" from all quarters.
Seiges. You've got to love them.

I loved how he blew the beans, so to speak, on RedRum
Seems like the kind of guy who ain't gonna take no b.s. from the Rulers. Good for him, I say. Did you know his testimony has been removed from the Senate's website a day or so ago; I guess not long after it was posted. All other testimony relating to the oil/food scandal is still there (or was as of late last night, I haven't looked today.) Very interesting...

Galloway
Galloway's truculence and arrogance didn't go well with the American people and he never answered the questions that involve him in the oil for food scandal. He assumed the "best defense is a good offense" attitude and insulted us all. I always thought the Brits were our friends. Think back to the Falklands war. I'm rethinking, not only my attitude toward the English, but whether or not I ever want to go there again. The world seems to hate us.. including you! You're just a bunch of self-important bastards that we can NO LONGER COUNT ON TO BE OUR ALLIES!!!
