zentropa - I usually do that too, however its true that a catchy title and the first two lines of a story are about all a reader will read if they are skimming.

Spitfire - I was thinking that, but I couldn't come up with full posts for any of them at the time. As for the chicken, well I hope it doesn't want to adopt me. I'm so not a pet person.

wordsmith - exactly! I've sometimes been disappointed when the story didn't match the promise of the title.

Tapsel - strangely enough, I haven't seen the chicken again. If I didn't have a witness I would think I had been seeing things.

Ca88andra,
I usually only go for a title that actually describes what's in my entry. I figure that if the entry is interesting enough, then it will draw people in accordingly by its description in the title.

Cass,
Ya should have used those in 3 different posts! That would be 2 extra titles you wouldn't have to think up! Hehe. Those are very funny! Maybe that chicken wanted to come in and meet you. Ya know, just like how cats adopt their people?

Lol Temple! Yes, that counts. You should be writing it all down, but I know what its like. All of us should be doing this, that or the other, but rarely do. You must have goldfields of stories in your head and one day they will come back to you.

Of course, I can never remember with my memory all messed up.
But, I remember saying, at least twice to Heidi and/or Jimmy this week....no one has ever said THAT sentence before! In my life, there could be millions...the weirdest stuff happens to me. In fact, my friends that have known me for a long time sort of make fun of the fact that I can say weird stuff like that. I'll have to write some down and tell you. I can tell you that I dreamed about a spider that turned into lettuce or grass and then Petie just snapped him up, legs dangling out of his mouth, and looked at me like....I got your back, Mom. The spider was kind of a cartoon by that point, not icky, and trying to be bad ass like before Petie got him. Does that count? ...lol...

Funny isn't it but the headline or catchy title follows for me or doesn't arrive at all.

lol muser! I love that story. I forgot to mention I was glad I had a friend staying here for the chicken incident. I bet no-one would have believed me if I didn't have a witness.

Excuse me, ma'am...there's a lizard in the avocados!
I have to to touch, squeeze, press...produce at the grocery store. Last week, I was going through a pile of avocados looking for that perfect one, when a small green lizard leaped out of the pile. I jumped back and let out a little eeek. The woman beside me didn't see what happened, so I, redfaced, told her..."ma'am, there's a lizard in the avocados." She actually rolled her eyes at me, and walked away!. Love this post...you have a wonderful style.
