Tely, Try as I might I cannot remember Lie down with Lions.  I'll bet I've read it though.  For the PLO side of the story from LeCarre "Little Drummer Girl" is best.  "Best of Friends" for the anti-Iraq War position.

Oh joy. Just what I need, more )(&!*!! Spam in my mailboxes. Grumble. RYN: Well, yes, when it does come down to riots screaming "death to america!" I tend to get upset, as about 99.9% of us don't give a damn as to what is happening elsewhere -- we're too busy trying to get along ourselves. As for my 'shocking' conservative statement there, I guess I'm just tired of seeing our poor country getting kicked every time something happens, despite the fact that we're probably the most liberal country on the globe, and given the chance, we tend to extend a helping hand to anyone, no matter what happens, and then get bit for it. Makes you wonder sometimes. RYN about the books, I still haven't tried LeCarre yet. Follett's Lie Down With Lions was published back in '86.
