Odysseus, the "warfare" I went through in the streets was just the begin-

ning. I was also an infantry soldier in Vietnam and a (black) executive in the rough-and-tumble, often highly-discriminatory corporate world.

And now, I am being fighting for my life in the literary world -- and a lot of the editors and publishers I deal with are just as vicious and dangerous as the members of street gangs. Writing is a tough business in which only the strongest survive.

FactorFiction, I had a bad habit of ignoring my mama's advice, and nearly
every time I did, I got into trouble.

Wow!
You could make a very interesting book out of this stuff.   Urban street life intrigues me because I grew up in a smaller town where most of our aggressions were taken out on the football field every Friday night.  I’m glad you survived.

MarshallEngraved, Thank You. & because I saw, and was involved in, a whole

of violence when I was teenager growing up in "South-Central L.A., I have plenty of true stories to tell.

In fact, things have not changed that much. Back in the day, whole lotta shit went down.
