those that are really genuine

don't flaunt it.
they just live and speak and act regular.

those that want you to think they are genuine
usually you can see through it.

my problem is, I've wanted to believe everyone I meet is honest.

and some have not been -- too many, really.

I agree with you that you can tell a genuine person when you meet one!

But it requires a lot of exposure to the world to discern between folks who pretend to be genuine and those who don't project themselves as such but are genuine
