Michael,
My belief, not through any teaching, is that what John wrote in the beginning of that book was true: "In the beginning was the Word, the word was with God and the word was God." "I go now to the Father and if you loved me, you would be glad for the Father is greater than I." Also, "I go now to show the world that I do my Father's will." I believe, personally, that Jesus had a mission to fulfill: to assume a human form, demonstrate God's power, and ultimately conquer death through his self-sacrifice, and that that sacrifice had a spiritual power, somewhat the equivalent of a nuclear bomb, which detonated the power of death through the unleashing of a spiritual force, he unleashed the Holy Spirit, because nowhere do I read in the Old Testament before Christ, except in isolated instances through Moses, David, or the prophets, of the Holy Spirit coming into a human being. In the end of John, he instructed the apostles the night of the Last Supper, that he would come and bring the Holy Spirit, which would teach them the truth and guide them, that the world would neither know nor accept that spirit because it didn't know Him, but that he would choose those whom he would call.

Jesus became a human being

He layed aside His divinity, even though He was still the Son of God on the earth, He called Himself Son of Man, He exercised no divine privledges while on earth.

He was ANOINTED ( Christ) with the Holy Spirit and operated by and through that anointing.

He was a model for all Christians. He prayed to the Father as a man like we do.

Who Is Jesus

Wow!  These are some really deep questions that we all have asked in life at one time or another...I don't feel completely qualified because I am learning, too.  Yet there are some things I just know from having been a Christian for 48 years.  I haven't attended church regularly for all of those years, but I have always listened to bible teaching on the tv and radio.  I now attend church regularly. I'll try further, here to explain what I know...

First of all God is spirit...He is Holy and cannot even look on Sin.  God reamains in heaven and He is the one we pray to.  We call Him Father......God sent Jesus to earth as a baby born to Mary in Bethlehem.  He had a God Nature and a human nature (like kids have characteristics and genes from their earthly father and mother.).  Jesus just lived his life while growing up...but at age 33 it was His time to do His ministry here on earth.  See, mankind was totally wicked and could not redeem himself to God because God can not look upon sin.  Man could not help himself, spiritually, so God provided by sending Jesus to be that sacrifice upon the cross...(that's why he's called the Lamb of God)... He took all of mankind's sin upon Himself on that cross...and shed his blood to bridge the gap between God and man.  He called God Father, also...God is the Father.  Jesus Christ is the son....His spiritual perfection (lack of sin) and total obedience to God the Father showed His oneness.. with god.  I don't know if we can fully understand how the trinity is...See we only look at life from our humanness.  But...we will understand someday when we get to heaven, if we become born again, repent of our sins and turn to living our life in obedience to God's word (which is the Bible).  I don't think that the Bible has been changed from when it was written.  God spoke in it that anyone who changed one jot or tittle would suffer a terrible curse.    I believe the Bible is the total word of God....a handbook for our lives.

I can't remember everything else you said in your post.  Did you know that everyone who becomes a born again believer of God through Jesus Christ His Son is a Saint? No, we don't pray to them.

These other 'gods' on earth are entities that man has made into 'gods' by worshipping them instead of the one true God...the only one qualified to be called God...The maker of Time, Eternity and The Universe and everything in it...Just look at the stars in the sky....did Mohammed or Buddha make them?  No...They don't qualify.  Did they design the embryo that brings forth a baby?  No...God is a jealous God.  He wants no other God before Him.  Jesus doesn't call himself God...yet he is God in the flesh..  He says 'If you see the Son, you have seen the Father ( he was saying that because God the spirit isn't visible.) saying that Seeing the Son (Jesus) shows God's character and how he behaves in all situations.

This is a very deep subject and really needs the help of someone who has gone to Bible school and can show you every scripture, etc.  I'm praying that your quesitons will be answered.  I'm trying, here....a lot of Christianity is just purely taking it on faith that God is who He says He is...That Jesus is His Son...and  you know even the people alive when Jesus walked the earth didn't believe.  (They even crucified Him)...but the bible says "Blessed are those who have not seen (Him) and believe."  Love ya...
