No. We've long since become acclimatized to our loss of Empire.

Ms N Dependence
Thank you.

I did just wonder whether I might have sparked a chain of thought.

However, the credit is all yours for a most thoughtful, well-constructged piece on a divisive, sensitive subject.

Just so you know...

this post and a comment from DylanV. inspired my blog post Not that I was Ever Confused About This But... - The Right to Choose Does Negate the Facts! It is still an unborn child!

I like to give credit - where credit is due.

Ah, a strangulated penal-colony voice. How nice not to hear from you.

I hope you feel better having got that off your chest.

Now try to stay calm, read the piece again and absorb the facts.

you make me hate you dirty, snobby, pompous, anal europeans by your ignorant and prejudiced evaluation of americans. maybe you should take a look in the mirror, pal. and a shower.

Dylan
The study actually concentrated on newborns.

I can't help but write something that will irritate and offend, but is simply self-evident: you must be careful what you wish for, for if you start to evince concern over the harm done by pollutants to unborn children, you personalize unborn children and make it harder to justify killing them, thus making it likely that right-wing religionists will not long remain the only big source of anti-abortion sentiment.

For me, of course, this is no problem, because I believe in protecting life from womb to tomb; but environmentalists who in their leftist leanings are also pro-choice will have to be careful about showing any explicit concern for the well-being of unborn babies.

Wouldn't work - too much lard. Good thought, though.

So that's the problem. Keep smiling.

OK Limey, here's the problem:
"Remember Chernobyl?"  Oftentimes, nine year olds can't spell correctly.  Thus the confusion:  Cher is not noble.  The word Chernobyl is very obviously the sick attempt of some perverse mind to pull a fast one on us.  Famous 33

You are very right.
Americans have put the revolving door in evolution- we are going nowhere.  The fattest people on the planet may be a protein source for aliens somedaw, you never know. Take care

No, I can't say I was, but I have seen shots of them on television - all scooters and parkas, I seem to recall.
