Lovelylady
I was adopted when I was 5. I consider my parents to be the one who raised me, nursed me, fed me, clothed me, guided me. My biological parents are deceased, but even if they were not, my Mom and Dad are my adopted parents. Your son has much to be thankful having you as a Mother. Try to understand it from the child's eye. He considers you his Mom, and frankly, it should stay that way. Sometimes it isn't what the biological parents did or did not do, it is about who we become by those that influence our lives the greatest. For your family to say those things would indicate to me they have the issue, not you. You did a fine job. Be proud of yourself. Anyone would be proud to have you write such a wonderful post on Motherhood. Your sacrifice was great, your a good woman...

Adopt me!!! Well, maybe not. I can be a real pain sometimes.
At least you have little Mocha to make you smile.

God bless
