From Bunny to Gubby

Yes, it started here! The anti-choice/anti-abortion people started calling themselves "pro-life" (the implication is that the other side is "pro-death.")

The people who want abortion to be legal call themselves "pro-CHOICE" because they idea is that, even if you would not have an abortion yourself, you will follow Gubby's eleventh commandment and keep your nose out of other people's uteruses.

Is that just America or other places too? I know I'd never heard of "pro-life/pro-choice" in England until I saw an American movie or something. What is wrong with these people? I think God should have made an eleventh commandment: thou shalt keep thine nose out of other people's business. Image hosted by Photobucket.com... different perspectives
Has anyone tried simply going to another pharmacy? I can understand women and girls in one-horse towns having a harder time with this issue, but the other 90% of women should have no trouble at all. I live in a town of less than 1,200 people, but there are eleven pharmacies within twenty miles.

Maybe rather than just trying to respond with some kind of PR "shock and awe" campaign, just go to another pharmacy. Write letters and send petitions to the companies, but don't tell them what they have to do. They should know already, and if they don't -- and you all are genuinely serious about a boycott -- then they will soon enough when they notice a decline in their bottom-line.

Private business, even regulated ones such as pharmacies, have the right to refuse to provide services as long as doing so is not life-threatening, and I'm sorry to have to point out that birth control, while convenient and important, is not so. Businesses respond quite well to attacks on their wallet and to fewer people in their stores. Why do you think McDonald's uses recycled materials for packaging now instead of styrofoam?

A bunch of middle-schoolers in New Jersey simply stopped going, inspired others to do the same, and they wrote McDonald's as to why they were doing it. The craze took off, McDonald's had noticeable profit drops across the country (something like 7%, which to them is astronomical), and they changed their methods. No threats. No indignant outcry. Just fewer patrons and a polite letter signed by a few hundred kids.

NARAL's out for press, too.

Can't believe this is happening!

That in this day and age, some radical thinking, right leaning, knuckle dragging buttheads can actually be trying to take all this away from us women.  Blast it anyway, if I had wanted to live in Saudi Arabia, I would have moved there!!   And the women that support these jerk-wads are complete morons.

Bunny, this is why I want a taser.
A super shock leaving a big mouth pharmacist curled up like fetus twitching would make him think twice about being a jerk.  Maybe I'm a little extreme... NAH!  Take care Bunny, great blog

You are absolutely right: they are terrified of women!

Chinese saying

we live in very interesting times.  And these really are interesting times.

I never, ever would have thought that a American woman, with all the rights and privileges that we have, would ever allow herself to be pushed back to how things were before the Sexual Revolution.

Ignorance takes many forms and this is one of them.

And I also have to say that this bullshit scares the hell out of me, seriously.  Are these people from America or Afghanistan?  Are these religous leaders so terrified of women they have to do this?
