I think the Duck, duck goose thing came about because I have a cousin who is constantly talking about breaking the Genisis Book Of World Records for the Biggest Game Of Duck Duck Goose.

PS: Read your about me page
Margaret Mitchell spend a huge block of her life on that novel, was essentially gypped by the movie's studio, and was exposed to further indignities when she was stricken and killed by a car, in very tight financial straits.
Shoulda wrote the sequel.
