The Scribes and Sadducees and Pharisees
couldn't see how common sinners could take their place in God's Kingdom.
or how Gentiles could become Jews without taking certain steps.
Remember Samuel choosing David as King of Israel -- God didn't look upon the outward appearance of seeming to be the definition of "king"; god doesn't look upon the outward appearance of seeming to be the definition of "Christian"; nor does god look upon a person with the label of Christian as really being a "Christian".
God looks upon the heart.
Remember "With God all things are possible."

a very radical claim you have made here. Nothing wrong with that. Makes things interesting.

Atheists most definantly can become Christians. The invitation is open to all.

But I can't see( and its not for a bigoted lack of looking or willingness to see) how a person who professes that God does not exist; let alone professs the Christ is God, can be a Christian. I mean they can have good, moral lives and even emulate the nature of Jesus in their actions. But your claim in this case contradicts some pretty straight foward teachings about how one becomes a Christian, as far as actually belonging to Christ Jesus.

unless you are seing things in the scripture that you think are there; but actually are not.

or....I could be seeing things that are not there.

we will see in the end. I personally would like for everyone to be saved and belong to Jesus.

in the meantime, none of this will stop me from loving all people unconditionally; regardless of their beliefs.
