What, you made two bits? Tell us your secret to attracting clicks!

Someone said writing, fighting and sex are alike in that it's the quiet ones you have to watch out for.

And, as I also said, nothing was written at the Algonquin Roundtable.

Here's you cute emoticon:

I never really came here to be serious, I thought I could make some money

here, Oh stupid me, but I like to write a little humor, comment on the news, a little satire, an opinion, etc.

I think down deep I always dreamed of writing a column, but as I get older I don't worry about it. I have sold a couple of articles, and I do some freelance photography, but mainly it gives me something to do.

Whim,
The "cutesy emoticons' aren't necessarily a bad thing.  I agree that it's a seductive thing to get pulled into the socializing here, but that doesn't necessarily mean socializing it's a bad thing. It's up the writer to discipline themselves.

Good thoughts! The biggest problem with Blogit is that it is a "safe environment", essentially just as safe as most classrooms. (I know, there's all them school shoot-ups, but that's beside the point). Too often, the comments are nice, with no real meat. Writing, to be effective, has to put one in a situation where the ego can be bruised, where the pieces can be brutally rejected. So, no one reads your blog? That's not a bruise to the ego: it simply means that either you have not done your "advertising" to get people to come to your blog or that readers feel that your writing is only for you. So, you're right. Blogit is the enemy for all who want to be writers. And, for thise who are writers, it's a place to relax one's normal need for precision.

You have posted wise words.

I did come here to write. If I spent all the time I spend here (a lot) writing my book, I'd be done by now.

Your right. I'm going to cancel my membership I think.

Thank you.
