Did you chop them or shred them...

Believe it or not it will make a big difference on how the soup tastes. Chopped it will taste lightly of  carrot, shredded it will taste strongly of carrot.

I think it is good either way. I loved the soup of comments.

how'd it turn out?  I have never put carrots in my pea soup.... truth be told, I have only made it once - it was fine, but wonder how it was with carrots because I am planning on making it soon

I really can't imagine pea soup without the carrots.
And I don't think it necessarily has to be mushed up. It should have some texture. I wouldn't run it through a blender. I went to Anderson's Pea Soup once and theirs was mush--watery mush. No character.

I seem to recall carrots
in my mother's.  I love carrots, so sneak them into almost everything, anyway.  If you like them, throw 'em in.  What have you got to lose?

Doesn't everything get mushed up anyway?

A new recipe would be interesting to try out. Unless, of course, you dislike carrots.

Congrats, you won a riddle on the virus scanner solution.
